The Great Book Debate!

Year Four’s Enabling Enterprise Project Brilliant Books.

This week we have started our Enterprise project based on how brilliant reading can be.

Which is better, books or TV. Year had to debate for and against reading or watching TV. We talked about how much information books and TV could give you, how entertaining books and TV programmes are and which is better for your brain!

Performance Poetry!

All this week Year 4 have been learning about poetry.

Take a look at our performance of At The End of School Assembly by Simon Pitt.

Miss Sparrow’s lot flew out,
Mrs Steed’s lot galloped out,
Mr Bull’s lot got herded out,
Mrs Bumble’s lot buzzed off.

Miss Rose’s class . . . rose,
Mr Beetle’s class . . . beetled off,
Miss Storm’s class thundered out,
Mrs Frisby’s class whirled across the hall.

Mr Train’s lot made tracks,
Miss Ferry’s lot sailed off,
Mr Roller’s lot got their skates on,
Mrs Street’s lot got stuck halfway across.

Mr Idle’s class just couldn’t be bothered,
Mrs Barrow’s class were wheeled out,
Miss Stretcher’s class were carried out
And Mrs Brook’s class
Simply t r i c k l e d a w a y.

A New Term!

Welcome back!

I am sure we are all refreshed after our Easter holidays and all raring to go!

In the next term we are focussing on lots of Science and Geography with our new Topic, Water and where it comes from.

Our learning challenges include finding out about sources of water, why it rains, mapping our local area and identifying local water features.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

This term we are learning about the Arctic which ties in nicely with our class book The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

We have started by thinking of adjectives to describe our setting, the Arctic!
